イリノイ大学同窓会会長の矢部です．
This is Kozo Yabe, President of the Japan Alumni Club.

本日は，皆さまに悲しいお知らせをしなければなりません．
Today, we must share some sad news with you all.
表題の通り、本年３月１日、当会元会長の小峰尚様（享年７０歳）が、東京・日赤病院にて永眠されました。胆管癌という病名が判明したから僅かに１か月でのご他界でした。
As stated in the title, our former president, Mr. Hisashi Komine (aged 70), passed away peacefully at the Japan Red Cross Hospital in Tokyo on March 1st of this year. His passing occurred just one month after being diagnosed with bile duct cancer.

当会としても、ご遺族の皆さまに哀悼の意を表しますと共に、小峰元会長のご冥福をお祈りする次第です。
Our organization extends our deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prays for the repose of the soul of former President Komine.

ご葬儀関係での情報を、ご遺族である奥様・小峰久美子様から頂戴しましたので、こちらに共有させて頂きます。
We have received information regarding the funeral arrangements from the bereaved family, Mrs. Kumiko Komine, and are sharing it here.

当会からは供花の手配を致しますが、当日のご出席やご供花に賛同頂ける皆さまには、何卒宜しくお願い申し上げます。なお、生憎のことながら、私自身は故・小峰元会長のご葬儀に参列できません。ご葬儀の日と私の実母の納骨の日時が重なってしまいまして、出席が叶いません。この点、何卒ご海容の程頂けますと幸いです。
Our Japan Illini Club will arrange floral tributes, but we kindly request the attendance of those who wish to attend the service or contribute floral tributes. Unfortunately, I myself will be unable to attend the funeral of the late former Chairman Komine. The date of the funeral coincides with the interment of my own mother, making attendance impossible. I sincerely hope you will kindly understand this circumstance.
